Allotments 4 All

 As 99.9% of the fruit trees have dropped their leaves, Gerry is out there spraying with agricultural oil and lime sulfate mixed. as of this past spring we have rigid restrictions on what we we can spray the gardens with, no this, no that, this has in due coursed a great loss in crops for the home gardener.
We are trying this dormant spray now and will do it again in the spring see if this will help any. 
Do  any of you spray over there, I know when we lived in UK it was never heard of, wondered if times have changed..

we use greasebands over here to stop them climbing up the trees

the idea of early/late spray is to get the critters before they are up to their mischief early in the spring. q
Any way any thing is worth a try.

Had a lot of problem with pear tree.  Something made all the fruit fall off.  Got rid of the tree in the end.  Apple trees seem ok so no pesticides used. 

Do loose some of the plums, nasty little pink grubs.  What's it they say: What's worse than finding a maggot in your plum?  Finding half!

We lost all our plums this year as did many others,  also lost most of the apples.
