Allotments 4 All

I have had a bit of my lotty covered with green plastic sheeting over the winter trying to make the weeds die off.  Will this plastic sheeting have made the soil underneath warmer or will it make it colder? I'd like to know as I thought I'd put some spuds in it and I don't want them to get cold!

usually if the soil is covered it will be warmer than if left to the elements? is this right guys??

Depends on the colour, black (or clear) to warm it up, white to cool it down. Green no difference  ???
