Can we have a communal "big it up" for Mr 1066 please? Last night I cooked a shop bought cabbage (had run out of time and energy to go up to the plot) and cooked it (lightly steamed) as per normal. And Mr 1066, bless im, said it wasn't a patch on my home grown greens in terms of taste. I'm well chuffed! What I'll have to do next is a blind tasting .....

;D  ;D  ;D

We do the "blindfold scratch and sniff" carrot test:

Scratch the surface of a supermarket-bought carrot and ask your blindfolded guineapig what it smells of.  Chances are they'll say "soap".  Then do the same with a freshly dug home grown carrot.  Then they'll tell the difference.  It's amazing - and it works.

And we always say we eat in the best restaurant in town - at home.  :) :) :) :) :) :)

I have a mental image of a blinfolded guinea pig - squeaking  ;D

But it is a great reward for all the time and efforts we put into our veg plots  :)
