I have managed to aquire a large quantity of advertising banners.
these are the type that are hung outside pubs advertising the latest offer or sports event.
they are made of very thick plastic(pvc?) and vary in size with most being 3ft by 15ft.
what would be the best use for these on the allotment?

You could use them as a cover on the shed roof

Compost bin sides... if you cut them into say 5' lengths...  :-\

They sound as if they might be impermeable. In which case, covering rough ground to suppress weeds. (But not under bark paths, unless you want to be swimming in water!)

Lucky you!

I use them for compost heap sides,
covering beds,
advertising our events,
tablecloths for the plant sale,
repairing my rubbish polytunnel
