Hi
I have quite a few aubergines left on my plants, the problem is that they are very small (some are smaller than an egg). Is it worth trying to keep the plants going? Will they actually get any bigger now? Or is it time for the compost bin?
(they are Ophelia aubergines)
Thanks

Unless the plants keel over I'd keep going... I have some in the greenhouse still, but they are meant to be small. They won't grow if you pick them...  :-\

I have a calliope aubergine and it has three beautiful stripey fruits except they are smaller than a large egg.

Now I know about the joke 'and a small aubergine.'

Have you considerred putting a few stakes around them and popping on a clear plastic bag so warm them a bit, leaving a little opening for heat escape?  I was toying with trying that myself.
The handle on your recliner does not qualify as an exercise machine.

Following my thread the other day, I've brought one of my plants into the kitchen to see what happens.

It looks a lot bigger in the kitchen than it did in the greenhouse!

Yes I've brought 1 of mine indoors now as well.
I had been thinking of trying some foil around the base of the plant to see if that would help.
Interesting idea about the plastic bags and sticks, I'm trying to think of the pros and cons at the moment on that one  :-\

Just to update, since bringing my Calliope into the kitchen on Sunday, two of the flowers have developed into fruit already! :D
