Allotments 4 All

I managed to spike my index finger with some chicken wire on the plot 4 weeks ago. Took my gloves off to do a fiddley bit. Needless to say it became infected even after many lotions and potions applied by me. It swelled up to the size of a sausage so I took it to the doctor.
2 courses of horrid side effect antibiotics and an xray for foreign bodies later it isn't right yet.
So heed this warning folks, wear the gloves at all times.
( Tetanus up to date too)

Ouch!  Hope it clears up soon.  I can't get on with gloves so I'm always spiking myself.

Chicken wire! it could be bird flu. Sausage finger! if it is pork, Swine flu. Good help us if it is beef, mad cow disease ;)

when this first happened to me my old man sorted it out

he filled the washing up bowl with water just as hot as i could bear and then added household bleach and washing up liquid and made me soak my hands in it for about half an hour - topping up the water with boiled atare from the kettle - at first it was excruciatingly hot but when i acclimatised it was fine.

this was repeated over a few days untill all clear

works a treat - never had to resort to antibioatics fortunately

the only bi-product was that i ended up doing the washing up at home and now I have anick name of the conan the kitchen cleaner
