Had  great day visiting Mary and Ron, there is always such a lovely welcome at their home. Their garden is so full of colour and I came home with some nice Fuchsia plants/cuttings. Was a beautiful day, we sat in the garden after lunch having a good old chinwag and plenty of laughs. With the aid of my sat-nav I managed the 172 mile round tripe without any mishaps.
Mary's home made fruit cake was delicious!!
Many thanks Mary and Ron, see you next year in your new home.

sounds like you had a great time, Lorna..well done on the journey..told Ray if it was me driving, we wouldn't have got to Brighton..not too keen on the motorway madness  ;D

Well done Lorna. I wouldn't have the courage to drive all that way. I just about make it to the plot
When I get old I don't want people thinking
"What a sweet little old lady"........
                             I want em saying
"Oh Crap! Whats she up to now ?"

This is the 3rd time I have visited Mary and Ron. First time with Lish, (no sat nav) got to out Hotel. I knew my way to Lowestoft it then took us hours to find where Mary lives which is only about 2 miles away from Hotel. 2nd time young Lorna took me, she had sat nav then on Monday although Lorna was invited she had to work. So with the aid of my sat-nav that my Grandson bought me I thought .... go for it girl and it all turned out great, no problems.
I am half thinking of taking my car to my sisters in Kent on my next visit but I hate the M25 so maybe as usual I will get Lorna or John to take me.
Better make the most of my sat-nav as I have always said  I will pack up driving when I am 80 ;D

You could use the Sat Nav to find our Open Day........ DE23 6JH  :)

Saddad. You never know. I have looked up info and according to Route Finder it is 96.2miles door to door. After having a good look round I think it would warrant an overnight stay..could get Travelodge for £29. I might ask young Lorna if she is free that weekend as I would prefer to have company for the journey and the night. We will see as I would be interested.

It would be lovely to see you both... and if you are "stopping over" I might get to see something of you as I am usually run ragged on the day...  ;D

There was home made granny smiths cake?  :o  I need to visit more.  Is there any left as mine has run out ...  :P ;D

Lorna, glad you had a nice time.  The garden looks beautiful doesn't it?  I too spend all of my time out there when I visit (when I'm not patching up the puter ... :-X)

lorna

Samantha, yes the garden looked beautiful.
Erm not sure if any cake left for you. When I visit next year I am going to be cheeky
and ask if there will be any of that cake on the menu to have with our afternoon cup of tea!! ;D
