Go round Leicester market you will see fruit and veg never seen anywhere else as Leicester is so multicultural now  ;D

I love the market and come home laden with ocra, plantains, funny pears I cant remember the name of, all sorts of chillies, mangoes 5 for a quid, etc, etc.
The meat and fish market is great too, even just to look is eye opening.

manicscousers

thanks, ishard..is it on every day?
probably one of Alan's first stops, he's a chef  ;D

Ishard

Oh lucky you married to a chef! YUM!

As far as I know yes its on everyday.  ;D

saddad

You're always welcome to drop in on the way back...  :)

manicscousers

ishard, it's my son, the chef..comes in handy at christmas  ;D
david, we still have your postcode in the satnav..just worried we'll bring the rain with us  ;D

saddad

We've had enough... the gills still haven't healed up...  ;D

manicscousers

we're still getting it, I'm getting webbed feet, think I'll be growing a bill next  ;D
will let you know nearer the time  :)

Ishard

Oops Manic sorry  :-[ At least if you get someone to cook its all to the good eh?

manicscousers

he won't let me in the kitchen when he visits, brilliant  ;D

Mr Smith

Manic,
Your Hotel is easy to find just by Burleys flyover on the inner ring road, I don't know what kind of food you like but in walking distance of your hotel you have Belgrave with many excellent Indian restaurants, places to see you have the Space Centre, you might find some cricket at Grace Road several good museums and if you don't mind the half hour drive you can be out at Rutland Water, :)

Ishard

And Melton Road for good Indian sweet shops.  ;D

manicscousers

brilliant, thanks, Mr Smith, I love indian food and Ray can always get steak and chips  ;D
can't eat sweets but the shops sound great, Ishard, we'll go to the space centre unless Alan has other ideas, should be a good laugh  ;D

manicscousers

well, david..we'll be up your way after lunch on tuesday, is that ok for you?

shirlton

We hope that you and Ray have a great time and that you don't take the rain to Derby with you ;D
When I get old I don't want people thinking
"What a sweet little old lady"........
                             I want em saying
"Oh Crap! Whats she up to now ?"

manicscousers

don't worry, shirley, I've packed the snorkel and flippers  ;D

Mr Smith

Manic,
How did the Leicester trip go?, :)

had a brilliant time, walked all over leicester, went out for lots of meals, spent monday pm with our son, haven't seen him since Christmas so that was nice  ;D
went up to derby to see saddad and ray got stomach pains and threw up so we came home early  ;D
met up with alan at the clock tower, what a lovely piece of work, someone had sculpted a sand statue in the centre by the new shopping centre..watched a moslem wedding and the british special olympic bike races  ;D
haven't seen any of the olympics on tv, am I looking in the wrong places  ???

Mr Smith

Manic,  the Special Olympics have been on local TV but no full coverage and by the sound of your post you have definitely been to Leicester, ;) ;D

manicscousers

I forgot about the market, we were amazed by the choice..pity we grow our own stuff  ;D
