As they say there is a first for every thing, but not as bad as i expected considering the torrentail downpour we had.

Peas are over at about 45deg.....onions speak for themselves.

Some of your pics seem to be showing onions toppling over. Are you sure this is the effect of the rain?

kt.

Our allotment shop was flooded out so we spent 4 hours this morning clearing out water....   There were also several allotments under water some could of started to grow rice 8) 8)

Tomorrow night I return to Liverpool after 2 weeks in Nice.

Monday morning will the the first look at my plot and after the rain that I think has fallen I am somewhat anxious.

The potatoes were all green, will they have blight?

The onions were upright, will they have onion neck rot?

Will my neighbour have watered the things under polythene?

Will they have picked the courgettes or will they be 2 feet long?

Will the gooseberries be bare because of sawfly grubs?

Will the wind have blown everything over ?

How exciting!

Well........As it was rather torentail and where i live according to the news we got the brunt of it, also managed to push some fruit trees over and i had to straighten up the sweetcorn and stamp it back in.
Some people had tiles blown off, rain blow through open window by the force of the wind and trees uprooted.
Yes.....quite sure it was the rain.

I kept an eye on the radar on the Met Office Site.  The NE was being hit from all directions all day. I was wondering who had been hit.  Hope things recover ok.
