Allotments 4 All

I have a white wisteria.  Always flowers, but it does not seem to sprout from the stem which is getting longer and longer.

If I cut most of the top growth now, do you think this would persuade it to sprout further down the stem, so just kill it.

have a good read of the RHS pruning book!!, they really give good instructions for pruning wisteria.
