Allotments 4 All

I tried Chinese cabbage for the first time this year, they have all gone to seed without making heads. Any ideas??

I have looked at the trial that I am doing and found that these type of plants all have to have plenty of water to stop them from going to seed.
I have kept mine watered very well. They have come to a size that allow for several meals of which there will be another tonight.
The ones that did not get all the water that went on the other crop have all gone to seed and they will be used next season.
Better if you can use raised beds too as then it allows for water retention in the bed.
I would try again next season and allow for plenty of water also nip out the seed heads. The other thing is that in our climate the plants do not get as big as if they were in their native Asia.
Keep trying and you will succeed.

June / July is the best time to sow them direct.  ;D ;D ;D
