I did mention in an earlier post that I'd made a cold frame which I'd decapitated a snail on.

Here's the pic: http://www.albumonline.net/display.php?id=9e69457c

It's made of 2nd hand scaffold boards, sheet of weed suppressant membrane, gravel and a free shower door which was ordered in error by some builders, damaged then dumped outside the house still with the plastic protector on it! (I did ask for it)

An excellent structure....  :)

you'd not say that if you saw it - very much cobbled together!

My DIY ones are nicknamed "the coffins" unfortunately I've broken one of the lights...

They need another coat now...

One board from Travis Perkins and free lid.

Have always loved cold frames since my Dad's from years ago, planning on putting cucumbers in for the summer at the moment it is a nursery for my hanging baskets and baby leeks.

Second pic also shows my raised beds (or graves as they are known, would go well with your coffins saddad!).

Great coldframes everyone :)

Is it worth me building one for this time of year, what would be the benifits?

I built one because if I didn't do it now, I'd never do it.

Good for starting seeds in if you don't have easily accessable windowsills.
