Allotments 4 All

I have been storing Jerusalem Artichokes in old compost in a couple of buckets but they are all growing roots and some at the top growing shoots. (Mainly because oh, who does most of the cooking, forgets they are there to be used!). 2 questions- are they still ok to use and if not would they be ok to plant out if I offer them on freecycle?

You can still use them, don't worry.
