Set the AGA up this am before shopping to glaze the Ham for tomorrow.
Well up to temp so reset a bit.
Back to the job - assumed good temp - 10 min, 10 min ........check temp - way below norm!!

Oh, well - still tastes good.

Live & learn?

My Gran and me was thrilled when she got rid of her Aga and got a 'proper' cooker.

I just do not understand why people are getting them again. Like coal fires and log burning stoves. What do people want to be doing fiddling with all this dust causing ash and extra work.?

Total madness. Fashion gone mad

Had I not been careless in resetting the temp, this is what it should have been.

AGA's? - who's been reading the anti-AGA diatribe in the Guardian? Let them cry with jealousy!!

We have lived with the comfort of range heat all our lives. Rich? NO!! It's the Home. Heats 2 rooms, the water, airs - no soggy tea-towels, no tumble drier. Long, slow, heart-warming stews. Toast. Bread at the drop of a hat. Only one disadvantage - when you're trying to cook, several bottoms are warming on the rail!!

Dust & work? Except for the once in a while boost for a big party, never touch it.

Fashion? Enduring, since 1922. Hardly 'fashion'?

But yes - I can emphasise with those who are not at home all day & want an on/off heartless slick convenience. No argument.

Where did you go shopping Tim, Bourton-on-the-water by any chance? We stayed there 30 years ago & have loved it ever since. We had Birdland & the pottery across the road from us. The ham looks amazing. Enjoy.
