Hi,

I planted some pea and beans the 1st feb and now they are a foot tall and going over. Should I be cutting them off at  just above the real leaf node or potting them on with stakes?

Thanks

Hi,
I would suggest that 'it's a bit early' for beans/peas, but not knowing where you are & that you have plants that are thriving & that we seem to having 'spring' weather, pot them on with stakes.
Every year in Feb. there is a false spring - so take care. 8)

Your peas could be put out given protection with fleece or glass/plastic cover over them, if you mean broad beans these to could go out

It sounds like you have them too warm - they have put on too much floppy weak growth.

Mine are outside in a plastic greenhouse, growing slowly but strongly

Thanks for the advise.

I will pot them up and put them in the greenhouse, that should slow them down a bit.

Thanks
