I grew this for the first time last year and now the plants look like sticks with curly kale pom poms on top :D
Is it worth keeping them in the hope they will produce a bit more in the spring - or will they just go to seed when the warmer weather arrives?

They will eventually run to seed, however, don't get rid of them unless you desperately need the space as you can continue to strip the leaves, and the flower buds are delicious when they come if picked promptly.  Then chuck them on your compost heap.

and you often get side shoots which are young and tender too!  :)

Thanks for the advice. I went and checked them today in view of making a decision. Some plants have such tiny leaves on the top it may not be worth keeping, but I will give them a bit longer to see how they do. They had a reprieve today anyway as the soil is too frozen to dig!
