Just as an experiment, popped some seeds into a large tub at the end of August. Amazingly, they have reached a metre high and small flower buds are developing !
Might move them into the conservatory, and hopefully a bit of pampering might coax them into flowering over the winter !  ;D
Worth a try d'you reckon??

Definately!  How wonderful will your conservatory smell if they do burst into flower!  Posies of sweet peas on your Christmas table.

mmm go for it. I am doing something similar, with humble pot marigolds. i planted them up in August and hoping to get lovely pots in my kitchen - nothing can brighten up the day like the sight of such a cheerful, exuberant little marigold (or a nasturtium, perhaps) when winter skies are dark and drear.
May have a problem keeping the light levels up though.

You must tell us how they get along.

I only sowed my sweet peas about one month ago and they're only just a few inches high. No chance of them flowering til next summer!
gone to pot :D
