I don't suppose any one has noticed but Ive not been on here in ages the reason being Ive been so busy doing what i here you say! well i took the plunge and started my own cleaning business and it has taken off a lot quicker than i thought it would it just goes to show that there is work out there if we try hard enough to look for it and by golly Ive tried and it payed off. My company is called cleanrite cleaning services and if any one needs a cleaner just send me an email.
I do have a bit of a funny story to tell ..
I got a call for this chap who happened to be Indian and i had a hell of a job trying to understand him ,you know what its like, well i got the address of him to pick the key up to do a house clean on his rented propertyand was there at the time agreed but when i knocked on the door a lady came to the door didn't open it so i showed her my business card through the glass panel and she shook her head at me so i then showed her the address of the rented property and she nodded and came out of the back door with this other lady and this lady explained that her friend didn't speak good English and i was to come in and wait for the husband to come home as he had the key with him so i did ,when we were seated in the lounge i thought that the two ladies would make small talk with but but oh no god was i in for a surprise they both sat opposite each other and started singing in Indian and slapping there hands god i didn't know what to do i started looking round the room that didn't work then the two ladies sounded like they were being strangled and i had to think of some bad things to try and keep a straight face just so i didn't laugh than a thought occurred to me and i started looking for a hidden camera but couldn't see one so i thought it must be for real this went on for about half an hour i developed a bad cough, i Daren look any where apart from the ceiling then the lady that spoke English asked if i would like the telly on and i said yes any thing to distract me from the awful singing but oh no not Easterners the news was on and i couldn't understand what was being said as it was in Indian just when i thought it couldn't get any worse the two ladies then started dancing by then i was biting my thumb to try and keep myself from laughing at last the husband turned up with the key and said that the ladies were practising for some sort of competition and i didn't have the heart to tell him that they shouldn't bother. when i got to the safety of my car i couldn't move for laughing and was sat laughing to the state that i was in tears when a police car pulled up behind me and an officer got out and asked if i was all right i couldn't even speak  but i did manage to control myself to say yes when i got home my husband was all concerned because of the state of my face but then when i told him what happened he didn't believe me but i swear its all true

   Sorry thww,

Didn't know you were a lady untill the end of your story, What are you doing going into strangers
houses on your own -  really reccomend you get a partner that does these calls with you.

The ladies were entertaining you in the only way they know how,  by there tradition and were
playing host to you untill the man of the house came home.   I don't get the impression that you have
surveyed your new venture to the full.   you will meet people of many ethnic groups  - and you
    should be prepared for that.

I am sure you are able to do a great job in the cleaning of houses between tenants,  and good
luck to you, not something I could cope with.

Wishing you all the success in you're new venture,

Thanks for the laugh, I would have laughed out loud I am afraid.

Those of us that offer a service to the public have to visit the client at home.

I am careful that my husband knows where I am going and always keep my mobile with me.

When I used to work for the council I loved visiting people of Asian origin as  they were so hospitable.I used to get offered some wonderful food.

I was told not to refuse as people would take offence so I always ate something. No hardship.Just used to worry that it did not seem very professional :)

It,s a minefield out there.

Seriously, keep your wits about you and if it does not feel right, woman's instinct, get yourself into a safe position.

Hope it works well for you.
