I did not want to highjack Si D's thread on crop rotation so am asking here if I do have it in the wrong place hope some one will tell me (still new to the etiquette thingie!).
I always used to love your website Tee Gee but now my system blocks it totally and locks my stem up I always have to reboot any ideas why?

I have no idea whatsoever what can be causing this problem ??? is anyone else having a similar problem?

I know I had a bit of a problem with my FTP site but that seems to have resolved itself  could it be that your link was cached when I had that problem and perhaps doing a 'refresh might cure it??

Try this link and see how you go on; http://www.thegardenersalmanac.co.uk/Indexes/index.htm

If this fails then perhaps someone in the computer/internet forum might be able to assist.

Sorry I can't be of more assistance than that but I'm afraid I am not an IT wizard :(

Hi
I think this is due to an error in the javascript you use for your menus.
On most PC's this will just appear as an error icon in the browsers bottom left corner (in IE) but I suppose on some PC''s their individual "on error handling" could cause the PC to close the browser. If closing the browser was unsuccessful then I could see it locking a PC (especially in IE/windoze)

Looks like a javascript error, can't link to FAQs, photos and links from the home page, until other pages have been visited. Then the links work OK.

Can you clarify;

Is it my system that has the javascript error or susiebelles?

If it is my system what can you suggest to eliminate the problem?

Hi TeeGee

Just looked at your code and to clarify ....

first off have you done your site in Dreamweaver?

it looks like a common error when customising one of their javascript menu templates.

to confirm
the error is in your web pages script which is (probably causing) the other PC to crash because of the settings on her PC. So unfortunately your fault however it would be probably better to fix it because you dont know how many other PC's it will be affecting and the script error icon doesnt look to appealing

Susiebelle without knowing the setup of your computer to fix the problem I would (unless you have a reason not too) return your browser to its default settings and do a windows update just to make sure you have all the relevant patches

in IE 7 to reset go to
tools
internet options
advanced reset

Hi again TeeGee
Looking in depth at your script you have a mouse over event that runs when your page loads.
Basically this runs a script when your mouse moves on the page between a certain area (where your menu is) it causes a certain effect to named <div> items on the page -Items named menuitem1 to menuitem7 - however your page contains no items called this so an error is returned.

You have two choices
rename the divs or
remove the script

if the page already displays as you intended then the script isnt needed, this may be because you have used a script for submenus but have no submenus in that case replace the following line

<body onmousemove="closesubnav(event);">
with
<body>

and the error will go away

Tee Gee

Thanks Glow,

I have found the script line; <body onmousemove="closesubnav(event);">

But I am unable to remove it ???

I have looked on all my templates and the text in question is on some and not others  ???

It appears in faint rather than bold text, suggesting that I am looking in the wrong place to alter it.

Can you suggest some way in which I can remove it and do as you say?

As I said I am not IT literate and I have just followed the 'Dreamweaver' format  parrot fashion but somewhere I must have installed this piece of html unaware of the problems it can cause.

Any further advice would be appreciated...........TG
