Allotments 4 All

Well it's been a week since I aquired a half share in the plot next to me. Michael decided to call it a day after 15 years in my site and 43 years allotmenteering.  :'(

It had tons of prickly brambles to get rid of and I managed to do that with the aide of a pickaxe last week. The soil is fabulous under all the brambles.
I've taken some before pics and will post some more perhaps tomorrow, weather permitting.

I'm hoping to make raised beds too on this plot, with barkchip paths. I enjoy doing all the hard work but look forward to doing nothing but planting and sowing once all the hard landscaping is done  ;D




After some clearing last week

Lynn will have the little shed.

The fir tree is history as it will block out the sun from my greenhouse.

I am so jealous, what a beautiful view you have in the background and to clear a site is so interesting.  I am in London but do love Devon for holidays.  Good luck and look forward to seeing your photos.

So lucky.   How good is that,  getting an additional plot right next to your current one.  I put my mother-in-laws name down for a plot 10 months ago (For me to work though),  still waiting.   ::) ::)

Well considering the dreadful weather we had down here at the weekend, I think I'm making some progress.

I've cleared the corner and levelled it ready for the greenhouse to go up at the weekend.



We managed to keep the greenhouse in five pieces, sides and roof.




The lottie rubbish piled up, drying, ready for a good bonfire.

WOW :o such a lot of progress you must feel well chufffed. Your soil does look pretty good and fertile, i would even say it looks good enough to eat ;). don't forget to check your bonfire pile for frog/ toads and or hedgehogs before burning.
