Feeding vs overwatering

When the soil is already sodden from the rain, does feeding with soluble food in water do any good?

Sorry,  I don't know.  But I would expect that, unless the ground is totally saturated, the liquid feed would go down to the fine root ends and would be beneficial.

I suspect that if you dig into the soil it will be sodden on top but as you go deeper the soil is probably drier.

As long as the soil is not totally saturated... so that the feed washes away.   ;D

I think the already wet soil can help clear the way for the liquid feed to penetrate - and wouldn't it also help replace any lost nutrients? Provided, as saddad says, the soil isn't already swimmimg.

That's what I was thinking- and that putting yet more water into the ground would exacrebate an overwatering problem.
Think I'll just feed anyway as my beans have been rubbish anyway- nothing to lose!
