Had one a couple of years ago, fine if you cut hedges regularly (ie without long growth on them), it is not so good on long growth. The small box gets full very quickly, so you need to buy the 'hose' like attachment that ferries the clippings away as well, adding to the price. Ours broke after not much use, I notice there are a lot of 'refurbished' ones on eBay.....

Thanks for that Deb ~~I think I will save my money and buy ordinary  hedge trimmers. I have been finding my husbands heavy duty ones too heavy for me!

I have bought the black and Decker lightweight.I do have a problem with holding weight for a length of time.It is very easy to use,however I think the blades are shorter as I can not go across the top of hedges in one swipe.
Small price to pay for more comfort. :)

I will look into it thanks Betula I am quite happy with the shorter blade as i use it for low level shrubs and have always cut back my climbing roses with it. Does the roses no harm and I get a wonderful show each year ;D
