can't wait for it to flower, it'll be in a bigger pot when the roots fill this one, same soil as ordinary sage ?, gritty, etc

Georgie

Mine are just in multi purpose with added perlite....

And if it's happy, this is what it can do in one season in open ground (the buckets are 12" and 15" tall - and the sage is the bush behind them!)    ;D

wow, that's some plant, how do we cook with it, or do we just like the flowers, must admit, the scent's a bit wierd for me, I'm used to basic sage smell  ;D

saddad

We had one once and managed to keep it for a couple of years... never cooked with it though.
:-\

Amazin

I think I read somewhere that the scent is lost in cooking? Mind you, don't take my word for it - I am to cooking what parsley is to scaffolding.

Best advice I can find is 'use leaves in fruit salad, in pork dishes or to make herbal tea'.  I just like it for the smell and flowers.

PS  All the cutttings I've sent out are from an original from Amazin.  I think I've said that elsewhere but not in this thread.
