all my strawberries are in full flower at the moment, is this right cause I'm sure I read somewhere that you should remove the flowers, they are in there 2nd year

It's the flowers that gove you the berries, so the more the better.  Some sources say that you should remove the flowers in the first year to prevent fruiting and let the roots and crowns develop.  Yours will be fine now.

What a waste!

water in some growmore regularly once the flowers form  (same as for tomatoes) instead and get that fruit.
