Love that Montana and that hybrid clematis.

I am more a blue/white/yellow man with Iris the golds/browns just don't do it for me. But then again it would be a sad world if we all liked the same.

All in all I liked your display

Grandma

Thank you all for your nice comments!

Sorry about the duplicated pics - I'm really rubbish at this! There should have been snaps of white, pink and peach poppies - heaven knows where they went!

Lorna - the weather in W. Sussex is just crazy! A couple of days ago it was two-showers-a-day weather - today, I seriously thought about putting the heating on for an hour before I risked stripping off!!! (And I'm sure your sweet peas will be worth waiting for. xxx)

The promised rain amounted to next to nothing - just dampened down the dust - so I still can't dig a hole in the 'concrete'!

Tee Gee - I couldn't agree more! I love all my irises, but my favourite - (a glorious deep purple/blue and white one) - is later flowering! I'll snap it for you when it's out! Was it the white montana you liked?  I'm really pleased with that! It - (and the red eccremocarpos scaber) - just 'arrived'! I would never have thought of planting them where they have grown - in a dry, north facing border! Nature knows best! (Wish I knew how to do slide-shows' like you do!)

Thanks again to you all. xxx

QuoteWish I knew how to do slide-shows' like you do!

Your wish is granted!

see here;http://tinyurl.com/yps22u in fact I have just noticed this is a more up to date version than mine.

What you will probably find that your slide shows will display adverts whereas mine don't, but thats because I have an expensive bit of software that can take this off.

Beautiful garden ...

wanting to know the name of the pink clematis please it adorable?

Grandma

Hello cardinalflower! The pink clematis is montana 'Elizabeth' - it is lovely, isn't it - and it has a beautiful perfume as a bonus! It's VERY vigorous but doesn't seem to mind having bits chopped off when it goes where it shouldn't!

Thank you, Tee Gee! I'll have a play around with it. Don't hold your breath, though - I'm useless at all this high tec stuff!
