I've just returned from a trip to my dentist, who is a lovely and extremely competent woman for a torturer.......but why do I go from my usually assertive self to a total jelly once I sit in that chair?! She even had to tell me to close my mouth in between procedures as I was just frozen and in 'do as I'm told' mode!

Anyway, one complicated filling later......£79.....ouch! I know I haven't had a filling for a while but I don't remember it being that much! I'm off to dribble tea out of the side of my mouth now..... ;D I will go down the plot later to reward myself for being a brave little soldier...... ;D

my last trip was over a grand, two crowns, and a filling.Robbing gits.They say builders are bad !!

Same here two crowns £350 each one started to let in hot and cold so he offered to repeat the preceedure, no thanks mate whip it out, I now have a lovely gap and look like ' Terry Thomas' ;D, also to many fillings to mention ;D

Trying to space out £750 worth of treatment so I don't start a panic run on the banks.  I spluttered a lot - an awful lot when I was presented with my treatment plan, but if you work out the total cost of running a practice, insurance, training etc, it's not that different from a solicitor or an accountant & I'd rather they had & did all those things, so I guess I will stump up.

Albacore - Stop moaning  - One minute you are bragging about how you earn pots of money then the next minute you are bragging that your dentist' bill was "over a grand"!

Remember you have already told us you can afford your new gas guzzler truck because you work hard for it! - Why then call a dentist a robbing git then!  Builders yes most of them are - they don't spend 7 years training for their profession.

I think Froglets sums it up well by pointing out that dentists don't get the full whack themselves - they have staff/property/insurance and training to pay for before they pay themselves and most of them do a good job - better than some of the cowboy builders that earn "loads-a-money"!!

Not keen on sweets chaps...I blame the fizzy wine myself! ;D ;D ;D
