My cucumber leaves are turning a light shade of green, almost white. Some of the leaves feel as if they are dead, not as lush smooth as others. I have Ziena F1 and Marketmore. They were sown 3 weeks ago in multipurpose compost in the conservatory. They were in a heated propagator till they germinated.

Are they dieing?

I would say they are either to wet or have been scorched by the sun.

Do you mean the pair of leaves? i.e. the cotyledons (seed leaves)?

If you mean these then this is perfectly normal, if you mean the true leaves then I would say sun scorch!

It is the pair of leaves.  Having never grown cucumbers before I do not know what to expect.

Hi KT,

I dont think you need to worry, looking at your pics they are the seed leaves that are dying off. Its ok  that they do that. The first true leaf is the one with the prinked edges and that looks fine and healthy ;D

I was born with nothing and have most of it left.

Certainly looks that way.
I have found the biggest killer of Cucumbers is Stem Rot so i grow them on a pyramid so the soil stays dry round the stem.
