Mrs Ava

Oh how can I vote on this poll!  I like them all, couldn't choose between them, not at all, even sitting here thinking about home made white with my mouth watering, and then french stick with brie and the a ciabatta with mozerella and basil and some lovely toms, and then plassy white toasted with butter and jam...................................therefore, I'm afraid, I will not vote.

aquilegia

d**n - I can't change the poll to have one option as 'all of the above'.

some to think of it - I can't choose either.

for me - everyday stuff - it's granery crusty. I'd love it to be homemade, but I just don't have the time. I love making bread on occassion in the winter. Although Mr Aqui's loaves always rise better than mine (he's stronger than me!)

It's been years since I made my own bread but I keep promising myself that I will do it again.  There really is nothing to beat a home made granary loaf.

Wicker

Ditto all of the above so can't vote either - easier to vote for one I don't like  :D
Equality isn't everyone being the same, equality is recognising that being different is normal.

I did vote, but it was cruel to make me choose!

I like the stuff with seeds in and on it.  Unfortunately, I like it toasted and buttered.  Not too keen on wholemeal and Hovis - I obviously don't chew it enough and it feels like it gets stuck part way down.  Actually I do  like most bread and was even contemplating investing in one of those bread machine make and bake thingies but as I'm on my own it would be too much of a temptation.

Mrs Gumboot

Homemade white. Mmmmmmmmmm . . . . . .

Nice thick doorstop-sized slice, toasted with lashings of proper butter.

I do cheat though as we have a breadmaker & I've started making brown / wholemeal as it seems to keep longer.

Hugh_Jones

Couldn`t vote because I only eat Oat bread, which is far superior to anything made from wheat.

rosebud

Recipe please Hugh ,can it be made in a breadmaker???.

anything as long as it is not BROWN!!! >:( >:( >:(

and not with butter as I can't stand that either!!

Hugh_Jones

Sorry rosebud. Haven`t a clue. We buy it from a local baker.

bananagirl

Rye with caraway seeds in it...made by me  ;) After who knows how many attempts, I've finally cracked it, and it is good. But I like/love most bread, except that tasteless brown stuff that commercial breadmakers try and pass off as wholemeal. Yuck.

As a baker I love all bread, but nothing like a fresh white bread out of the oven in the morning before going off to work. Lightly toasted with lashings of butter and honey. Also a strange thing with me is I can only eat brown bread, if its lightly toasted with a thin coating of Marmite. If I don't do it like that it makes me ill, same with the Marmite come to think of it. Love making the foriegn breads, special skills and techniques that are required.

If it weren't for beer and sex than cycling would be the best thing in the world.

Breadmakers rock!!!!!

I use mine regularly 'cos it's more convenient for me as I work shifts.   The flavour is far, far, far superior to any bought bread and as somebody with allergies I can adapt the recipes to suit myself.

My instruction/recipe book even includes recipes for reduced gluten/ gluten-free breads.

At £40 it's one of my best ever purchases.

Agree cc bread machines are fantastic. I make loads of different types. Waking up in the morning to smell the freshly baked bread, yum. Use if for mixing pizza dough too. Really experimenting with some of the basic recipes and adding seed and honey - fab. Favourite is Rye and caraway seed.
