Allotments 4 All

Just received my seeds from Seeds of Italy  Franchi seeds.  Wow they look lovely - beautifully packed - looks as though there are loads in the packet - reasonably priced and "different".  Great fun!

I got a packet of their mixed pumpkin/squash - fab mixture - although the seed is mixed so will be a random type of venture!

I was particularly after borlotto beans and a proper italian tomato variety - I am intending to dry them on the front dashboard of the car! - Which apparently works well - probably only when parked up - otherwise squishy tomatoes every stop or start!!

I only ordered on 3rd March so pretty quick as well.  I was pleased to find them as apparently Italy isn't all hot and tropical heat and they do have some very different varieties which should do very well here!

Probably you lot all know about them already - but as a relative newcomer to buying stuff online - really exciting for me!

I lead a quiet sheltered life so am easily pleased!

Yep! know what you mean, they are good and often found in deli's too. One of my tomatoes from them has 390 seeds!!
Which is why T&M have a looky likey range.

I bought quite a few tomatoes and veg from them last year and, despite giving quite a few away, have plenty left over for this season.

Such a nice company as well.  I emailed to ask a question about a particular plant last year and had a mail back from the managing director with one of his own recipes attached...

Yes, this seed company is so generous. Great germination rates too.

I think it is owned  or started by a female chef. I'm sure she was on Saturday kitchen... But I could be wrong the older I get the more I forget :o

Last year a friend bought me back some seeds from Italy (not Franchii - but similarly good), and some Franchii from La Dolce Vita event in London. This was advertised in the Sunday Times last week as running next weekend.

Just considering buying tickets and going down for the day - its at the Olympia I think. Trouble is my OH will want to spend all day at the wine and food stalls - or if they have cars with Ferrari, whilst I spend my time searching out anyone selling seeds and plants. Can cause a bit of discussion until we agree to split then remeet.  :)

I saw them at La Dolce Vita - four packets for a fiver, which is mad when you think that some of their onion seed packets have 1200 seeds in them! Imagine buying 1200 onion sets...
