I started sweet peas off in the greenhouse last November.

Having picked out the tips, they are now quite big and bushy.    They look eager "to get outside" (a bit like me !).

It is too early to plant them in a rather exposed, windy allotment ?    If so when would it be be safe to put them in the ground?

 Hi annppayne,  :D
Mine are the same, but I would hold off until the end of March.
Here in the mildish  8) south east that`s when I put mine out on our exposed plot. They need hardening off between now & then, I leave the coldframe lid up on mild nights. They may not grow very much at first but once the weather warms up they will romp away & I usually have flowers by May.

                                                                                            Adrian.

growing tip is just the central top bit of the plant, makes them bush out from the sides..we've been pinching out ours for a few months now, they're now planted into their buckets ready to go outside  :)

gunnerbee

manicscousers
