Brilliant mate they look just like my ones, you are making me hungry and my boys have now seen the pictures and want some so off to the kitchen I go lol

caroline7758

What are they? And what are the things in the pan? ???

caseylee

They are pastry things that are deep fried, then dipped into a syurp solution, and left to cool they are gorgoues similar to yum yums but more gooey.  The stuff in the pan is cinnamon sticks that infuse the syrup

cacran

I would not like to say that when I was drunk!!!!!!!!!

Never mind Springbokgirlie - I think you have to be South African to appreciate them.  I made some a while ago and they lasted two days.  Next time I will make a double batch and freeze as they do well frozen.

I want to pluck up the ocurage and make some boerewors some day, but everytime I get the urge I sit quitely until it passes. ;D ;D ;D

springbok

you remember the women institute shops casey lee that sold koeksusters and fudge....  ;D ;D ;D ;D
Think might make a batch tonight as i have a houseful over the weekend.  Have to make hot cross buns too.

caseylee

I remember them are those the home industry ones.  My mom came over a year agao and everytime we went out she looked for one.  I am very tempted to start one as there are none in swindon only tesco and things like that.  Please post your recipe for hot cross buns, I haven't made them in ages.

Do you have a bread machine linda to make the dough?

Gazfoz

more importantly casey, do you and your family have a lard arse from eating that crap.

Gary.

caseylee

I do have a bread machine.  And no I don't have a lard arse us south africans are healthy people, hence why we can eat these things occasionally lol.  Plus as I always say im built for comfort not for speed, I class koeksisters as my treat as I do not drink, I live on fresh veg and home cooked meals, and do not eat any shop bought sweets or chocolate.  At least when you make it yourself you know whats in it

springbok

Thats cool, coz i make the dough in the bread machine.. will dig out the recipe and email it to you!!..

hmmmm... Hy weet niks nie my vriend!!!... Ons sal lekker eet :D

caseylee
