I have dug enough now to maybe start planting some bits, i was thinking of starting broad beans off in greenhouse to bide me bit more time, as my soil at lotty is very heavy and not so much sodden but inbetween if you get my meaning,is it btr to leave it a bit longer and carry on as i was going to by starting them off in the greenhouse or put them in ground now? many thanks

saddad

I'd start them off then harden them off and put them out, that's how I'll do my spring sown main crop...
;D

MPG

thanks v much will do same then

Mine have been sitting in waterlogged soil all winter, but they're doing fine. I think Aquadulce Claudia are pretty well indestructible, but I'd hesitate to try it with other varieties.

Teena

hi there
we tried overwintering 1st time last nov.
we put in 'Bunyards Exhibition' and today roughly half of them are up, about 2/3 ins high and enjoying the sunshine.
for spring planting we set them in toilet inserts feb/mar then once they are showing, harden off then put in the ground last year we had 'Aquadulce Claudia' and they were ok. we've got them and 'Enorma' for this year.
good luck teena
