Is it o.k to put it straight on the borders? or do i put it where im not going to grow for a while?

It needs weathering before being put on the garden ,Fresh chicken manure is classed as hot  and would prob burn plants if it came in contact with them .
After being piled etc for a while it is good manure ,,, Cheers Jim

When I clean my hens out, all the waste goes into a compost bin purely for chicken waste composting due it being so rich. I leave it for 4 months minimum before use. You could reduce this if it is to be left in the open. Some plants won't like it at all. As previously stated - it can scorch your plants if used too fresh. Do keep it for future use though as chicken manure costs about £1.50 for a 1kg bag!... and is good stuff. If you get too much then I am sure some of your lottie neighbours would be happy to oblige in taking it off your hands.

You could dig it straight into the soil if you won't be planting anything there for 8-10 weeks or so, especially if the soil is poor quality.

someone suggested making a 'hot box' using this as the base, good idea ?  :)

well thats o.k i will put it where the bindweed lurks about and the ground elder, hopefully it will kill it off and im planning on sowing some seed in about 6 weeks, so thanks ill happily dig it in!!!
