Photo 1 is the plot this February - lots of replanning going on - moving beds and digging, digging, digging.

The results or rather work in progress are in photo 2, taken from roughly the same angle.

It is slowly coming together but still digging, digging, digging ;D

Well, I thought there had been an improvement - but maybe that's just because it was me doing the digging and weeding :'(

A lot to be said for seperated areas. Working one at a time never seems such a chore as an open plan.
Looking good, SMP.

Thanks everyone

Beds are definately the way for me but it works much better having the beds different sizes.

We're completely sold on beds.  In the beginning I planned just one raised bed - for the asparagus - now we have 21, with 2 to go.  We also have three beds, not raised, but with grass paths between, and they are my least favourite beds.

Well done, SMP - backbreaking, but worth it.  :) :) :)
