crab apples are delightful, useful pollinators and crab apple jelly is to die for, they are beautiful trees to have as well, not sure it's a bargain price, i think you'd be as good to buy from a nursery - now if lidl had them at 3.99  :o

Hi Baccy Man - with apologies for hijacking the thread - I've just been on the BTCV site. Looks very interesting but I can't seem to find any further info about them there - not even what the initials stand for! Can you help?   ???

You have to login to purchase from BTCV, and before that you have to register.
It looks to me from the online form that you have to be a member first to be able to register, as they ask for your membership number.

Can't find out from their main website how to join, and it looks as though they are some sort of conservation volunteer group, whose vice presidents include the likes of David Attenborough, Bill Oddie, and David Bellamy, plus quite a few others.

British Trust for Conservation Volunteers. There's good stuff on their site about fencing and other nature reserve type things.

You don't need to be a member of the British Trust of Conservation Volunteers to buy things from the website although as with many sites you do have to register your details to make a purchase. It is a standard form asking for your name, email adress, country & a password the BTCV membership number (if you had one) is asked for but not required.
I originally came across the site when I was looking for rivets for a spade handle which I couldn't find anywhere else, since then I have purchased numerous other items. The postage is high but if you are ordering a lot or you club together with some friends & make a joint order then it works out a lot better.
