I grew mini red sweetcorns (cant remember the name - may have been strawberry something)

The cob is dark red and about the length of a litle finger. On the packect it said "great for making pop corn"

ive bought corn for popping before, and it was dried.
Can anyone give me advice on how to dry it, and how long it takes?

Thank you----Bye  :)

hiya, mergles, if you leave the corn long enough, the kernels will dry but I've no idea how dry they have to be..someone will be along soon to give you some advice  ;D

Thanks for that Manicscousers- -I'll leave it as long as I can - probably until I can't bear my daughter asking 'when will it be ready?'  ;)

DRY THEM TILL THE SEED IS HARD AND YOU CAN'T PENETRATE IT WITH A NAIL, THEY DON'T POP IF THEY STILL HAVE MOISTURE IN THEM XX jEANNINE
When God blesses you with a multitude of seeds double  the blessing by sharing your  seeds with other folks.

Hi
This year ive been drying my normal sweetcorn becuase i cant eat it fast enough(hoorah)
Both for seed  for next year becuase im a miser and for lovely autumnal decorations the indian summer is great for this.

I found that if you just peel back the leaves and either tie on string and hang over radiator or if you have a double radiator just leave it between the two panels,  it drys out great. :) Takes a while though.

T&M CAT says that you can place the entire cob in the microwave to pop it (for the strawberry cob) let us know how that goes! :D

Thanks for all the advice. The cobs are beginning to dry out already. I like the idea of putting the whole cob into the microwave - I wasnn't looking forward to having to scrape those tiny seeds from the cob to pop them. :)
