Allotments 4 All

Good evening everyone.

I've been growing some lettuce in a tub for a while now, but seemingly overnight they've gone from healthy tough green bulbs to really soft, rubbish flimsy ones :( I went to pull them up earlier this evening and they looked like different plants!

Did i pick them too late? Too much sun? Help!

Possibly they dried out too much with them being in a small tub but I'd suspect stem damage from a wee timerous beastie... difficult to see without harvesting or a bad case of root aphids.. again not visible until plant pulled up...

Would that occur over such a small period of time? - Terrifying!

They feel like let down balloons. How sad.  :(
