Ok I have a slightly obsessive compulsive personality.... In my life i have made and taught porcelain dollmaking, knitted, crotcheted, ceramics, scrapbooking, cardmaking, rosettes (incl own business), currently selling gift cards and stationery, now i am thinking of making jewellery...

But of course not only that, but thinking of making my own glass beads.

Anyone done it? Do it?

I must be mad but i must ask!

Have made jewellery - silver and beading mostly. I loved it and would love to do it again but it's a pretty expensive interest, well the silver is, specially if you want stones for whatever you've made, so when babes came along it just fizzled.  :(  I do looove beads. I am a bit silly about them actually.  :P ::)
I'm doing a handbag making workshop in July at this lovely little craft shop that's just opened near me. Let us know what you find out about making your own glass beads, i wonder what equipment you need? God OO, started me off now!!  ;D
Don't throw paper away. There is no away.

Don't get me going too, the kiln is still sitting there and the doll molds haven't been looked at for ages..I think the part finished dolls in the trunk behind me are calling out help as we speak.

I have a packet of earing thingies, for pierced ears somewhere if anyone wants them.

The hook things that go in your ears,I don't know there name. Lot of sets.

Something I was going to do one day and didn't.

Not silver or gold though.

Im not sure exactly what you want to do but i think i might want to do the same,,, just make glass beads and play around with frit and foil and bits n bobs.  Where did you get your kiln? Im watching some on ebay at the moment.

yes!

Sounds like we are after douing the same, I've posted the question on another forum as to if anyone knows where to do such things

I bought my kiln, ages ago, with some enamelling bits from:

http://www.fullmoons-cauldron.co.uk/pmc.htm

I also use it to do PMC - which they also sell at that site

I'll keep looking  for a course that suits us

Ah kathi I have found a woman in Leicester which is an hour from me... only does private lessons though. Full day £120 which i thought was pretty good... http://www.redhotsal.co.uk/  I might book a day with her when the kids are away.

Looks good Emma, let me know how you get on - I think I'm going for a weekend course in Bristol, it's where I used to live, so I've got people to stay with, and Jon can go kite buggying at Weston-Super-Mare for the weekend, which will please him as well (that way he might pay for it for me!)
