Hiya

Bit short of space as we harvested our onions and garlic over the weekend and as the weather is so unpredictable need to get it dried some how.

The onions are laid out in the greenhouse but ran out of room for the garlic

I have tied it in loose bundles and hung it in the shed window - no direct sunlight - is this an OK alternative?

Thanks

Having let mine get soaked as mentioned elsewhere, & given the constant cloud, I have a fan on mine!

It freezes very well and pops out of it's skin real easy and it also slices paper thin when frozen..another option,
When God blesses you with a multitude of seeds double  the blessing by sharing your  seeds with other folks.

I have strung wires at 6 inch intervals on the inside of my shed door and hung the garlic with ties to the wires to dry off - upside down of course. This way I can have the door open to the air when it's fine and close it if rain threatens.

This method worked well last year.

My rusty but not bad sized garlic is hanging up to dry in my 'lil lottie greenhouse, now joined today by some onions. Glad I hung on to that old cot side now, makes an excellent drying rack! ;D

If it's not pouring with rain, I'm either in the garden or at the lottie! Probably still there in the rain as well TBH....🥴

That would be a big old abacus Tim!

It's the sides from the childrens' old cot, I thought it 'might come in handy' one day...... ;D

have put mine in the shed and Tone is spending much less time down there ;D ;D ;D
When I get old I don't want people thinking
"What a sweet little old lady"........
                             I want em saying
"Oh Crap! Whats she up to now ?"

Thanks everyone....

well my MIL still has my husbands cot, she tried to give it to us for our baby but as it is 30 years old we decided against it, wonder if she still has it that is a great idea!
