On our new (2nd) plot I am planning to cover up the majority with cardboard. We will have time to dig over and weed a small section properly, but the rest will have to be roughly dug and covered until the winter. It is really a mass of every perennial weed you can imagine! I have 2 pumpkin plants and 1 marrow which should be fine planted through the carboard covered areas. Could anyone suggest any other suitable plants, which could be planted at this time (through the cardboard)?

Sparkly as you say any of the squashes, and I have done sweetcorn through cardboard. The brassicas (cabbage etc.) should be fine too.
We don't inherit the earth, we only borrow it from our children.
