Hi All
Have any of you tried starting off your swedes in toilet rolls or peat pots ??? Thought it may be a good idea as i don't seem to have much luck with sowing directly :'(
Any advise much appreciated :)

yep, we've currently got 12 swede seedlings transplanted into the veggie bed, all the others got eaten , we grew these in fibre pots

yes i grew them in rootrainers however within days of planting them out i was left with just the stalks!! i had put slug pellets down but had not netted them :'(
skyrats are greedy for tender lush brassica,s at the moment learn from mt mistake
found that seed planted now are coming up really fast

i sowed my directly into seed trays and then transplanted out so far about 90% success rate and trillions of spares incase cos i let step daughter loose with the seed  :D

Uncle Joshua

I sowed mine into a tray and got 30 plants from 30 seeds which I planted into a bed today.

i moved mine into there bed from a seed tray 2 weeks ago and they promptly got frazzeled.

I think 3-4 out of 30 survive.

I am going to sow another row in situ monday.

I put a couple of rows in direct last weekend... under fleece, if the sky rats don't get them the flea beetle will!
