when can i plant them on my new allotment my wife loves them a

As soon as the last frost has passed!

ours are all out, here in wigan  ;D

Mine were all self sets that I replanted where I wanted them and they are nearly 2ft high so they are taking their chance. But if they have been in a greenhouse or the likes then I always wait untill after the 25th ( Don`t know why but have been lucky )

I meant to wait, but ran out of room about 3 weeks ago and hardened these shorter variety ones off to plant around my beans.......fingers crossed they are doing ok at the moment!

I have had to use triple anti slug devices though...nematodes, slug pubs and plastic bottles around the stalks.. they still got a few bites of some leaves though :-\

Ours are still in pots Deb... so if the worst happens just give us a shout!

My first year with sunflowers. Got them because my kids wanted flowers in the lottie. Just transplanted 5 outdoors today. They are 3 inches tall. Grow a maximum of 9ft so I reckon anything over 6ft & I'll have done OK.

I have four planted outside in the back garden they are about 40 cms high. The tallest got bent over and nibbled and I had to do a self repair with a leaf and so tape seems to be ok.

I keep finding them self seeded all over the place ..they don't seem to take any harm outside..mind you, lots have been eaten by slugs but at least they leave the veggies alone  ;D

Hmm I planted some but only a few seedlings have come up. Should I start them off indoors? Do you think something has scoffed the seeds??

Mine are pathetic and skinny. The only ones that have worked out have been the dwarf varieties. They are lovely but the singles just not good.  :(

You can sow them now, it's not too late.  ;D

Sowed ours last weekend straight out in the lottie and they are all up already :) Competition ere we come!

Sowed mine a few weeks ago and put them out randomly on the lottie.  They look so nice when fully grown.
