I have two blueberry bushes. One was flowering nicelt, but in the last weeks the berries which were forming have dried up & dropped off. :'( Do you think they were too dry- or too wet? The second bush is now flowering and I don't want the same thing to happen.

I'm not sure Caroline it might be either or could they have caught a bit of frost?  I killed the only blueberry bush I tried to grow but that was in the days when I didn't realise they are lime haters. Could that be an issue?

Like many plants and animals, your blueberry bushes need to be of a certain age before they can reproduce, for blueberries, I'd guess it's probably around 3 years old. So, if one bush was sllightly older than the other when you bought them, this would be the explanation - one is old enough to reproduce, one is too young.

The plant which has failed did produce fruit last year, though the birds got most of it! Don't think we've had frost recently, and it's in a pot of ericaceous compost and I water it with rainwater.
