Hi, I am seriously thinking of becoming a little anonymous and changing from my real name  to a nickname. I have racked my brains and can't come up with anything that  I like that hasn't gone.

Ideas anyone... I am a hip old granny with a taste for squash , toms and beans.

Don't throw paper away. There is no away.

As you change your picture, more often than most change their knickers. I would go for BREIFLY

Rhubarb Thrasher

you have to be very careful about the name you choose. Someone I know changed their name by deed-poll, and then later got convicted of doing A Very Bad Thing. He appealed against it on a point of law and lost. Trouble is, his new name is unique on the planet. Half of it is a Lord of the Rings thing, and  goodness knows where the rest came from. So if you Google him, you get his nice shiny web-site, but also a US Supreme Court Judgement telling you all about the Very Bad Thing He Done

what about a snappy moniker like -IWontBeResponsibleForMyActionsIfICatchThePondLifeThatVandalisedMyPlot? Not at all funny

Do NOT change your name. The present one speaks volumes for a warm & buoyant character.

Name yourself after your favourite star. I once had Elvis Presley and James Dean as clients after they changed their names.

One year we had a James Bond and Stuart Granger in the same class, caused havoc with supply teachers who would not believe them! James was candidate number 006 when he took his GCSE's... almost....

If you're doing supply you get kids making up silly names all the time. Ben Dover is often a favourite; I remember a classmate claiming to be P. Niss; it was all surnames in those days. My answer is to keep calling them by the silly name till they get sick of it.

Some of my class once went on a CCF camp at an army base in Germany. The sergeant there lined them up and asked them to call out their names. 'Stiff, Sir.' 'Cock, Sir.' 'Crutch, Sir'. At that point, as I was told later, he erupted. They had to get a teacher to bring the official list of names before he'd believe that they were genuine.

I like the Over still giggling. It always is so difficult to choose a name especially if you have no imagination like me. But you would have to have new name previously known as Janine. Or it is me in disguise. Cos how would we know you then??
