I have marketmore cukes growing but running out of greenhouse room. (I know they can be grown outside too). But will five plants be enough for the two of us and perhaps some to give away to neighbours etc? Or should I also pot up six others besides?
Thanks for any help.. :)

Five should be fine... we rely on four crystal apple in a cold greenhouse. You can pot them on and give them away... or keep them back for a while incase anything snaffles one of the main.  ;D

This is my first time growing cukes and have NO IDEA how many to (roughly) expect on each plant

Nice beard!!

Continuity is more important than quantity? So how many can one expect from an outdoor cu? I have Burpless Green this year the first time. And what is their spread?

I have 4 marketmore just planted out in the plot today (with a spare in the greenhouse) plus 3 Telegraph in the greenhouse (to stay in big pots).

Good job I like cucumbers!  :)   First year growing them though, so who knows what to expect! Soomeone said I could get up to 25 courgettes on each courgette plant (I have 4 out already - eek!)

My first year growing cucumbers. Got 5 burpless tasty. Gonna put 2 outside and have 3 in the greenhouse. Unless anyone has grown them before offers advice to change my mind.

KT. I only live about 30 minutes North of you but i have never grown Burpees outside altho a friend does and gets good results.
As you live so close don,t suppose you would like to relieve me of a few plant pots ( a hundred or two, a few Russian onions,  seed modules) or anything else you may find useful.
PS Bring a hoe.

We normally grow Landorra. Last year, 2 plants spread like triffids & we nearly ran out of friends to give them to; previous year, bugger all!

Sorry, can't be more precise than that. (Grow more than you think you need; what you don't eat will make superior compost.)
