My toms which i planted 2 weeks ago have started to go a bit funny, there are yellowing patches on the leaves which are then dying , any ideas after this brief description, i ve got tommies in from another source which seem to be ok.  They are both planted in the soil which hasnt had anythin in it for a while

If its the lower leaves this is usually normal. These die off in time.

If its the upper leaves it could be sun scorch. I had the same problem with almost all of mine. But they seem very strong now.

The mark would usually feel like paper.

Hope this helps.

Not easy to say but as long as the growing tip is healthy then all should be well.

I`m not so many miles south of you and the evening temperatures are still nothing special-could be that some varieties are more susceptible to stress?

I don't know if you have but it is best to avoid watering over the plant. Water at base of plant.

In fact sink a 5" pot in front of each plant and water into this.

When feeding; water all round the base of the plant because the feeding roots are just under the surface.

yea think u might be right, the leaves towards bottom just have patches of dead leaf in them, all the same batch, others from my dad are fine
