Allotments 4 All

I sowed some sweet corn last week, in open ground, 2 seeds to a station.

Sod's law - they've ALL germinated. It seems such a waste to thin them out and put on the compost heap.

Is it possible to remove the seedlings and transplant them, keeping them well watered?

well, when I plant in rootrainers I always transplant the extra so, suppose it's the same ?  :)

If you do it while they are still small it should work... Corn used to be grown on hills with 3-4 plants at each station... so do you really need to thin them? At least they are hardened off...

I suppose the logical thing is to try it and see what happens, then you can let the rest of us know, nothing ventured , nothing gained.  ;)
I am new to all this, but it seems to me that there is infinate scope for experimentation and trial  an error.
