Herbs and cold frames over winter?

I am thinking of getting a cold frame (no space for anything else where I am, I'm afraid!) and was wondering if it was possible to overwinter herbs in one. Is this a silly question? I am growing peppermint, sweet basil, chives, rosemary, parsley and coriander and was wondering if it was possible to have a supply all year around without having to bring the pots indoors (again, a space and lack-of-light problem).

Apologies for the dumb newbie-ness!

it's not a daft question, really..we always overwinter our rosemary, mint, chives where  they are, they're quite hardy, parsley in a pot inside, basil and coriander we grow as annuals, planting twice a year and freezing and preserving in oil..hope this helps..
