I reckon he gets distracted by crowd noise - a pair of ear plugs might sort that out!

Reminded me of the day I went racing with a trainer friend, with a horse that had a habit of finishing second.  He won that day, though.  Pulled the hood off his head in the winner's enclosure, horse shook his head, and out of each ear flew a ... er...... ladies sanitary product.   ;D

LOL LOL. I love it! Well if it works, why not?

Poor Mr McCoy!

Didnt manage to see the Gold Cup live, but got home just after it had finished. Just in time for Ruby's celebrations! Great Win, great horse, fantastic connections.

Looks like we've all just got to accept the last fence business as a kind of trade mark.

Roll on 2008.

Blue Bird

Had a great tiem for the two days we were there.

only got a 2nd on Thursday !!

OH did much better got winner in the cup  (mine came 8th!!)

Weather much better than last year Friday morning was bright but turned cloudy and cold as the day went on.

For the first time in years I did not manage to see a single race! Oh well, that's studying full time for you..

Fun to hear how everyone else fared though....friend did brilliantly with money on Ingles Drever....next year will go at least one day - that's an early NY resolution!

I am not really a betting person, i tend to loose when ever i bet, and i cant afford to loose any money these days. However on the first two days did have a couple of very small bets via the internet. these were multiple each way bets on Nicholls' horses. These did so badly i didnt bother on the thursday and was working on the friday.

I do though like to go through races and try to pick the winner, purely as an academic exercise, based on form, statistics etc. Didnt do too badly with these selections.  'Had' Voy por ustedes and ingles drever using this system, plus a few others. Not the handicaps though, far too tricky!

Still on the whole i watch jump racing for the pure spectacle of it. Finding the winners is secondary to that.

GC - you got it - "the absolute spectacle" ......roll it on! X
