Just to advise that there is a new telephone scam being operated. A recorded message by a pleasant sounding young man invites you to call a number to collect a message. To those hard of hearing, it sounds like "collect a package". If you call the number you get charged at 10p a minute. Which might not sound a lot, but it all adds up. I checked with BT, who say they are aware of this scam, can't do anything, but the number in question to avoid is 0871 6660504. Hope I haven't broken any rules by showing this number, but this sort of thing really annoys me.

Nearly fell for it last week cos I was waiting for some packages to arrive.  Daughter stopped me in time - sometimes feels like the whole world is out to get you one way or another.

There is a similar scam where what appears to be a normal uk land line phones you (for me on my mobile) then as soon as you answer it they hang up. If you ring it back it is a high charge number, not that I have rang it back, but I typed one of these numbers into google and it led me to a forum with someone complaining about the scam. The number started 0156, if you get one of these worth googling it and see if anyone else has had the same thing.
